About Department

The Department of Education was established under Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, Agra, Apart from being one of the most prestigious departments that runs B.A. (since 2025) programmes, it also offers courses in basic Education to undergraduate students.
B.A. Education programme at BSA College combines ideas and research from education, psychology, sociology, philosophy and history. It introduces them to all important elements of Education including the foundations, theories and principles of Education, and an exposure to the latest developments in pedagogy and educational technology. Students will become familiar with scientific methodologies in curriculum development, measurement and evaluation in education.
The Course has been designed for students who have academic interests in education or aspirations to work with children and young people in a variety of fields, helping them develop their critical thinking and character.
Education is a subject of study deals with scientific analysis of education system. It is an interdisciplinary subject so the Education subject is a combination of different subjects like Philosophy, Sociology, Psychology, History, Technology etc. for better understanding and improvement of whole education system. The multi-disciplinary nature of education provides the knowledge and understanding about every aspect of education that is aims of education, curriculum, teaching-learning process, evaluation and many others things related to education.

Read the Preamble of Indian Constitution, understand & analyse its basic ideas of Justice, Equality, Liberty and Fraternity. Prepare a report & present what you have conceptualized. (Practical) Prepare a profile of any School (Class 6th - 12th) - Government / aided / Private. (Practical)

Philosophical- Sociological Political-Economic Perspectives of Education Psychological Perspectives of Education
Review a book written by prominent educational thinkers included in the course II. (Practical) Course Title: Practical: Case study of a Special Child (Practical)

Course Title: Educational Statistics Milestones & New Dimensions of Indian Education
Administration & Interpretation of Score of a psychological test Achievement/Intelligence/Personality/Aptitude (Practical) Visit to an Anganwadi Centre & report preparation. Or, Write & submit an article on any trending Socio-Cultural Environmental Issue. (Practical)
Collection of Data related to Education, application of suitable statistical methods, analysis & interpretation of result.

Visit to any type of University:
A. It’s profile preparation.
B. Report on its administrative structure.
Visit any Distance Education center. Interview its administrator & five students. Compare the Distance Education & Regular Education & prepare report.
Or
For Understanding Social disadvantages, Interview an working child/ a child who has experienced natural calamity or war or Terrorist Attack/ Orphan/ Urban or rural poor child/ a child who does not go to school/ or a person who got married as a child.
